Project Highlight: University of Richmond

Written by B. Scott Muench | 10 March 2017

The University of Richmond, founded in 1830, is located just west of downtown Richmond. The campus is characterized by its rolling hills and multiple ridges--typical to the Virginia Piedmont region. In the center of the campus is Westhampton Lake surrounded by Collegiate Gothic architecture dating back to the early 20th century.

Currently FIN Stack is connected to 50 campus buildings, almost 2000 pieces of equipment, and a total of approximately 2,500,000 square feet. The centralized graphics, data collection, alarms, and uniform user interface across all platforms (desktop, smartphone, and tablet) made FIN Stack the right choice for this project.

When I first evaluated J2 Innovations... the Historian [app] was what sold me. To have that amount of data at your fingertips is invaluable as a facility manager. FIN Stack provided University of Richmond a path forward with any vendor's control product.

FIN Stack is not just a BAS integration system, it is facility management tool and when you have a 2.5M sq ft campus to manage it was a "no brainer." I can customize the user interface to make my job of managing the campus easier.
