How many clicks does it take to get to your most commonly used BAS applications or views? Two? Three? Four? A lot of users have tried to solve this problem by creating bookmarks in their browser. But wouldn’t it be great if your BAS worked like a browser extension with bookmarks built right in?
Your FINtastic Tip for today is you can, using FIN’s Favorites app.
Even with good UI design, navigating a large facility can take numerous mouse clicks to launch the application and related view. For graphics, schedules, and histories (or other applications frequently visited), you can now store as favorites in the favorites app.
The Favorites app allows users to easily create a 'bookmark/favorite' of the current browser view within FIN. These 'favorites' can then be clicked on at any time to launch the app and the associated view.
The Favorites app can be used to add/remove favorites into and out of your App Selection Menu. To add a favorite, navigate to the exact 'view' you want to save, open the App Selection Menu and select "Add”. You can also create a "sub" folder that can contain favorites. Users can name their favorites, customize the icon, and select a folder level.
This functionality really shines on mobile devices. Imagine with your tablet or phone, being able to jump directly to the boiler room graphic or the president’s office schedule with one touch.
