October is always a busy month, but this year, it was even busier as we travelled to some local events to officially launch FIN Intelligence, the AI layer now built into FIN Framework 5.3. The J2 Innovations team has been on the show floor at Chillventa in Germany, IBS in France, Smart Buildings Show in the UK, AHR Mexico and SkyPosium in the USA, meeting building technology professionals, manufacturers, system integrators and partners across Europe and North America.
Each event brought its own audience and its own conversations, but the questions kept coming back to the same themes: how to connect building systems more openly, how to make better use of building data, and how AI can help reduce energy use without adding complexity.
Here is a look back at the launch tour.
Chillventa brings together the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump industries, which made it a natural place to talk about the future of HVAC control. The J2 team had the opportunity to connect with an international audience, including building technology professionals, manufacturers, partners, and innovators.
Visitors to the stand explored FIN Intelligence, got hands-on with the NEXIO controller and IO modules, and saw how plant management and equipment monitoring can be simplified. Many conversations centered on the challenges and opportunities facing the HVAC industry, and how FIN Framework brings greater flexibility, connectivity, and intelligence to building solutions, with examples from various equipment manufacturers powering their systems with FIN Framework.
At Chillventa, Julio Londono, Sales Manager Americas, presented "Optimization of HVAC controls with AI-powered intelligence." Julio explained how AI can enable smarter HVAC control, improve occupant comfort and help reduce energy consumption through real-time optimization and was answering many questions from the audience that were curious to learn more.
"What stood out to me at Chillventa was the industry's willingness to challenge traditional approaches and embrace a more connected future. Customers are no longer looking at controls as standalone components. They're looking for technologies that can evolve with their business, integrate seamlessly with existing systems, and unlock value from their data. That shift creates incredible opportunities for innovation across the HVAC ecosystem."- said Andrea Lamberti, J2 Innovations EMEA Account Manager.
Thank you to everyone who joined the session and to everyone who stopped by the stand to talk about open technologies, smart buildings and the future of HVAC and building automation.
The Smart Buildings Show, London was a milestone for us: it is where we officially launched FIN Intelligence as part of FIN Framework 5.3, "The Intelligence Release" after being in Beta for a nearly a year. We were also the official sponsor of the show's first dedicated AI Hub.
This year, we joined forces with our partners: Coster Group and Innon. Innon showed how FIN Intelligence can add AI capabilities to existing building management systems, while Coster Group demonstrated WebGarage, its FIN Framework-powered building management solution, alongside its wider hardware portfolio. Directly opposite, our demo pod at the AI Hub gave visitors a hands-on look at FIN Intelligence with Alex Badon, our AI Lead, Senior Software Development Engineer.
We also took part in two sessions on the opening day:
''As we travel back home from Smart Buildings Show we want to thank all of you who came by the Innon Energy stand. We felt we had the best conversations this year. For us it was the best show so far because we are entering a new era for System Integrators and Controls companies. And it is exciting. Thank you to J2 Innovations for this amazing opportunity and for being a truly great team. The sky is the limit." - Turchian Omer, Innon's Co-Founder.
During the event, the conversations covered energy efficiency, data-driven decision making and AI-powered optimization, and showed once again why Smart Buildings Show is such an important event for the smart buildings community in Great Britain. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and the AI Hub, attended our sessions, and took the time to connect with our team, and to Coster Group and Innon for sharing the stand with us.
At IBS (Intelligent Building Systems) in Paris, we partnered with Adeunis and Coster Group to showcase the Powered by FIN Framework ecosystem. Together, we demonstrated how our partners use FIN Framework as the foundation for their smart building solutions.
''For nearly 30 years, the Adeunis brand has been developing around simple values: transparency, loyalty, trust, quality and the creation of shared value. Creating an ecosystem of trust over the long term is at the heart of our values. In an increasingly uncertain world, this trust is probably the most valuable asset... and the most difficult for our competitors to copy. We are already preparing for the future and the next 10 years with our long-standing partners and newcomers! Thank you to J2 Innovations for their commitment to us." - said Jean-luc Baudouin, Deputy CEO, Adeunis.
At the booth we welcomed conversations about energy performance, operational insight, connectivity, and intelligent building management. FIN Intelligence was a show stopper with many visitors praising the software after spending time at the demo station building dashboards, logic and graphics.
"IBS Paris provided an excellent opportunity to engage with building professionals who are driving the evolution of smarter and more sustainable buildings across France. Together with our spotlight partners, Adeunis and Coster, we demonstrated how the Powered by FIN Framework ecosystem helps deliver greater energy efficiency, operational visibility, and connectivity. The discussions we had reflected a clear focus on open technologies and intelligent solutions that support France's building performance and decarbonization goals." - said David Gits, Global Business Development Manager.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and to our partners for two days of collaboration, both on and off the show floor.
Across the Atlantic, J2 Innovations was proud to sponsor SkyPosium 2026, SkyFoundry's annual conference for the SkySpark community, held in Park City, Utah. SkyPosium brings together reseller partners, end users, engineering consultants and SaaS providers from across building automation, IoT and smart buildings for keynotes, technical sessions, product updates and networking.
Gerard Huff, Director of Training and Ricky Villa Valle, Support Engineer at J2 Innovations were at the event, connecting with the SkySpark community about FIN Intelligence and FIN Framework. Thank you to SkyFoundry for hosting, and to everyone who took the time to connect with Gerard and Ricky.
We also joined the HVACR community at AHR Expo México. It is the largest HVACR event in Latin America, bringing together manufacturers, distributors, engineers, contractors and end users.
We attended alongside Aditel, who recently joined J2 Innovations as our distributor in Spain and also has operations in Mexico. Building on that partnership, AHR Expo México marked a first step in expanding our reach in Mexico and the wider Latin American market, and in bringing FIN Framework to new system integrators and OEMs in the region.
"The conversations throughout the event highlighted a growing desire to move beyond traditional project-based engagements and create lasting value for customers. By combining open technologies with advanced intelligence and analytics, system integrators have an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships, deliver ongoing operational improvements, and create new business models built around continuous service and optimization. We were excited to join Aditel in Mexico and show what's possible together.''- Victor Martinez, Sr. Industry Developer Director.
The strong interest from attendees reflected a broader shift taking place across the HVAC and building automation industry. System integrators are increasingly looking for ways to deliver greater value beyond installation and commissioning, while building owners are seeking more actionable insights from their systems. Discussions throughout the event focused on how advances in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and open frameworks can help accelerate this transition, enabling smarter operations, improved efficiency, and stronger long-term customer relationships. These themes were echoed by our partner Aditel, who shared their perspective on the opportunities these technologies create for integrators and building owners alike.
"During the event, system integrators learned about the potential of J2 Innovations' new generative artificial intelligence FIN Intelligence and how it transforms the management of buildings, turning them into spaces capable of intelligently responding to their own needs. Real-time information on energy consumption, alarms, occupancy, use of spaces and breakdowns, allows owners to have a comprehensive view of their buildings, anticipate incidents and make intelligent decisions, with autonomy and efficiency. What does this mean for integrators? A new way to demonstrate the VALUE of their work, strengthen the relationship with their customers and evolve from one-off projects to recurring service contracts and long-term relationships. At ADITEL Sistemas we continue to promote innovation, interoperability, open technologies to build truly smart, efficient and sustainable buildings." - Gisele Sosa, Commercial Director, Aditel Sistemas.
Across the week, the focus was FIN Framework 5.3 and the official release of FIN Intelligence. FIN Intelligence, our embedded intelligence layer that understands FIN projects, navigates applications, works with project data, supports engineering tasks, identifies logic issues and assists with controlled operational actions. It works at the edge and uses the cloud when needed, and it is available for FIN 5.3 and later.
Alongside FIN Intelligence, visitors explored NEXIO, our embedded controller for smart buildings, smart equipment and IoT; Edge2Cloud, for secure browser-based remote access to FIN sites without a VPN; and the FIN Solution Partner Program, which helps system integrators grow their business with FIN through training, co-marketing and technical support.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited us and to our partners for showing what an open, connected ecosystem built on FIN Framework can do.
