J2 Innovations, a Siemens-owned company and creator of FIN Framework, an open framework for building automation, today announced the official launch of FIN Intelligence at Smart Buildings Show London. As a sponsor of the event’s dedicated AI Hub, J2 Innovations will demonstrate how FIN Framework 5.3, dubbed “The Intelligence Release,” advances the industry towards more autonomous building operations.
Building management systems generate vast amounts of operational data, yet turning that data into actionable decisions has traditionally required specialist engineering knowledge. FIN Intelligence is designed to change that, allowing engineers and operators to interrogate building systems through natural language and use AI to accelerate complex engineering tasks.
At the heart of FIN Framework 5.3 are two key FIN Intelligence features: FIN Intelligence Assistant and FIN Intelligence Code. Integrated natively within FIN Framework, the two capabilities are designed to make building operations and engineering workflows more intelligent and intuitive.
The official launch follows a year-long beta testing programme with J2 Innovations customers worldwide. During this period, FIN Intelligence was refined based on real-world customer use cases and requirements, helping ensure the official release addresses practical building automation challenges, from reducing engineering effort to supporting optimised building and energy performance.

FIN Intelligence Assistant is a building-aware intelligence layer designed to understand a building's physical systems, operational constraints and performance history. It empowers building operators and engineers to interact with complex building data through natural language—asking questions, requesting optimisations, and receiving actionable insights without the need to manually navigate complex datasets.FIN Intelligence Code is dedicated to developers and helps with developing extensions, connectors and applications on top of FIN.
Cybersecurity, data governance and regulatory compliance are foundational principles of FIN Intelligence, supported by Siemens’ extensive system-building expertise and commitment to security standards.
J2 Innovations’ presence at Smart Buildings Show also highlights its growing partner ecosystem and how FIN Framework can bring intelligent capabilities to both new and existing building infrastructures. Co-exhibiting at stand number B24, two companies are joining J2 Innovations to showcase their offerings:
Innon: Innon is collaborating with J2 Innovations to demonstrate how AI capabilities can be added to existing building management systems. By layering FIN Intelligence onto existing platforms, Innon is enabling customers to introduce AI-powered capabilities, including natural-language interaction and intelligent control, while building on their existing technology investments.

That’s the whole demo,” said Radu Petrescu, Co-founder of INNON. “We’re inviting engineers to try it on a building they already know, then run a three-month pilot with our team beside them, so the step from demo to a recurring-revenue service is short and proven.”
Coster Group: J2 Innovations continues its collaboration with Coster Group, combining FIN Framework with advanced edge controllers to enable robust, local and intelligent building control. At Smart Buildings Show, Coster Group will showcase WebGarage, its FIN Framework-powered building management solution, alongside its wider hardware portfolio.

J2 Innovations will also showcase FIN Intelligence at its AI Hub Demo pod, where visitors can experience firsthand how AI capabilities are integrated natively within FIN Framework.
