J2 Innovations Welcomes new BACnet OEM Partner for Front-End Software

J2 Innovations is excited to announce a new OEM partner, ECS Group! ECS group is the proud parent company for Open General, a leading independent BACnet manufacturer of DDC building automation products and software, and wireless sensor company namely Spinwave Systems Inc..

Why is this exciting?

Open General was looking for a new front end software package and liked what they saw in the J2 Innovations’ technology. They currently offer integration of HVAC, lighting and access controls, and closed circuit television (CCTV) into one single Building Management System. With the adoption of FIN framework, they we able to enhance their offering with the addition of OpenXpress.

What is OpenXpress?

OpenXpress allows entire buildings to be monitored and controlled through a single user friendly, web-based interface. The complete applications suite can be accessed with a desktop, tablet or a mobile phone. With OpenXpress the power of “open” extends beyond the controllers, now the user interface embraces industry open standards Haystack and HTML5.

Why Open General Chose FIN

By partnering with J2 Innovations and adopting FIN technology as a development framework, ECS was able to quickly leverage FIN’s built-in applications and flexible APIs to bring their product to market faster. FIN embraces HTML5 as its user experience language, which eliminates common customer Java plugin issues.

“After several months of reviewing the various software platforms we could adopt, we found that the J2 innovations software technology is the most technologically advanced and widely accepted building automation system software package that is available in the international market.” - William Oldjohn, Owner, ECS
