FINtastic Tip: Scheduling Events

FINtastic Tip Schedules

Did you know you can create, edit, or check out what points are linked to a schedule in FIN's Schedules App? In this FINtastic Tip, we'll show you some additional tools that help make it easier to add scheduled events.

For example, a boolean schedule, which has two states could be used to control lights on and off. To set this up, a user simply clicks the + sign to add a new schedule and clicks the day of the week to define the timeframe.

What's cool is a power tool is available to duplicate Monday's scheduled time event to the remaining days of the week, such as Tuesday - Friday. Simply click on the tools menu and select the "Duplicate Schedule Day" tool, answer a few prompts in the wizard and you're done!

In the latest release (5.1.5), we enhanced the user experience by also showing the schedule's value overlayed on the schedule graphic. This applies to boolean, numeric, and enumerated values, which makes it easier to tell what the new state or value is for the current/upcoming period. Check out our docs here for a step-by-step guide.
