Have You Upgraded to FIN 5.1?

Many new features and enhancements have been added in FIN Framework 5.1. Let’s take a quick recap to see why you should upgrade.

Dashboard Builder

With the new Dashboard Builder app viewing and accessing the data you need is even easier- you can create your own dashboards, add and remove a range of widgets, and share across instances of FIN if desired. Plus, they are all dynamic and smartphone responsive.

Widgets available with 5.1 include:

  • History – display collected data over time
  • Value – a simple text label of a value
  • Value gauge – visual gauge components for a more engaging view
  • Graphics – add existing graphics page
  • Weather – add location weather data visualization
  • Table – present a range of data in table format
  • Map – add a visual map of locations and data

Edge2Cloud Updates

Edge2Cloud has a number of great out-of-the-box features that are enabled by joining a project to the cloud. Additional functionality such as an enterprise map view with status indicators, pop-up dashboard and graphic view, and secure remote access are all available with FIN 5.1.

Enterprise Architecture

With the release of FIN 5.1, the new Multi-level FIN Architecture provides a unified tool to make scaling and managing enterprise facilities easier. In a Multi-instance Architecture, the addition of a regional FIN 5.1 server helps manage an enterprise of sites running FIN.

  • Visually show projects as a collection of devices (typically site level instances of FIN) without needing to manually connect to them separately.
  • Through the FIN Network Tree, the proxied devices and their records can be modified directly.
  • Many of the tools framework found in DB Builder can also be applied to the proxied devices, greatly expanding the productivity when managing multiple instances of FIN.
  • You can now drag and drop database records to create copies and rapidly build up both site level and regional projects.
  • A new view shows a table of devices, CPU, Java Heap usage, storage, and alarm count.

KNX Connector

The KNX Connector provides automatic configuration, allowing engineers to seamlessly integrate and supervise KNX devices and systems. The software module is able to read a KNX project file and present all the KNX points/group addresses available in an installation within the FIN open platform.
