The home of smart buildings, smart equipment and IoT
In the third and final part of this blog series, we focus on the last section of our latest white paper, The Fast-Changing Future of Systems Integrators. This week, we delve into the impact of the changing working environment...
The capabilities of the internet and other technology has increased our potential when it comes to remote working. This has been accelerated again by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The need to manage buildings remotely has also increased and this trend will continue as facilities managers navigate the new role of buildings and how people use them. Cyber-security, air quality and responsive, remote access to a building is more important than ever.
According to a study carried out by leading cyber-security experts, Kaspersky, in the first half of 2019, almost 4 in 10 smart buildings (37.8%) were targeted by malicious attacks. And with cyber threats getting more sophisticated, it should be a priority for system integrators to ensure they use the latest and most secure software to avoid becoming another of those statistics.
Technological advancements and world events are causing disruptive change to the building automation market. For system integrators, to successfully carry your business forward and stay one step ahead of your competition, there is a need to step outside of the comfort zone and have the confidence and motivation to change. With a future that looks so different, there is a risk you will get left behind.
It is possible to do this and keep costs down. Using a software framework, such as FIN Stack, will help system integrators solve their challenges and adapt as it:
