Three Reasons a Software Company Would Sell Hardware

In addition to encouraging customers to use their own or third-party hardware for FIN, J2 Innovations recently announced a new hardware offering, the F200. Our partners have been asking for the option to have FIN Framework based software bundled directly with hardware. The natural choice was to utilize a Siemens-made edge controller, the F200, combined with the FIN Framework.

One-stop shopping for OEMS

Many of J2 Innovations OEM opportunities involve customers that make great controllers in their own hardware, and simply add the FIN Framework to complete their own product solution. There’s also a large number of OEM opportunities that have a killer application or new product innovation running FIN that still needs hardware to complete the product. For these OEMs, we will provide the F200 to help these partners get to market faster.

It’s all in the box

Traditional Building Automation contractors and System Integrators are comfortable buying controllers with included software that provides the tools and applications to create smart buildings. The FIN Framework, as a software product, is available as a FIN Stack brand and until recently was only available as a software-only offering. Now, with the introduction of the F200, the combination of hardware and software can be delivered in a single box solution to meet the needs of Supervisory & Control at a global controller level.

Proven technology

We also have hardware partners whose hardware is recommended by J2 Innovations to be ‘fit’ to use with the FIN Framework. Our Fit4FIN program is perfect for OEMs or integrators who don’t have their own hardware – they can simply work with someone in the program to package together FIN with the right hardware.

As you can see, F200 adds hardware to the existing J2 software portfolio to provide partners with more choice and flexibility.
